Have you just been accepted to King's for the 2012-13 Academic Year? If so, congratulations.
Are you interested in applying for residence accommodation for the 2012-13 academic year? If so, DO NOT use this form. Our online residence application SHOULD be uploaded to this site by mid-January 2012. Please check back.
Applications to live in residence for the 2011-12 Academic Year are being accepted. Please note the following key dates:
March 4, 2011. Returning students should apply by this date and pay the $50.00 application fee and the $400.00 confirmation deposit in order to receive first choice of room placement.
March 11, 2011. The first round of upper-year room assignments will be made by this date.
April 2011. First-year students will begin receiving notification about their room assignments.
May 15, 2011. Applications from non-King’s students will be considered after this date. Room assignments will be made if space is available.
King’s is unable to guarantee residence placement to any student. Residence is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Incoming students who are concerned about residence placement should apply and pay the necessary residence fees as early as possible in order to secure a room. First-year students who wait until the May 15, 2011 Admissions Deposit deadline to apply to residence and pay their Residence Deposit will only receive a residence placement if space is available at that time.
How will I receive notice about the status of my application? Remember to set up your Dalhousie Net ID and email! Notification about the status of all residence applications and room placements is only made using the Dalhousie email system. Check your account often so as not to miss any communications. If you have not yet set up your account, please visit my.dal.ca and click on the 'New Users' button to get started.
Non-King's and non-Dalhousie Students -- If you are a non-King's or a non-Dalhousie student, please contact the residence office (residence@ukings.ca or 1.902.422.1271, ext. 215) and request a BANNER student ID number. Please provide us with your full name, home address and date of birth. This ID number is required in order for you to proceed with your application.
Residence Fees and Withdrawal Policy -- Applications for rooms in residence are accepted on the understanding that the student will remain in residence throughout the academic year. Any student who wishes to leave residence during the academic year will be held responsible for his or her residence fees for the full academic year, or until a replacement, acceptable to the College, is found.
Withdrawal granted on medical grounds must be substantiated by medical documentation within one calendar month after the date of withdrawal. An additional administrative fee of $175.00 will be levied in the case of early withdrawal from an assigned room. Students evicted from residence will forfeit all residence fees.

 | Residence Lifestyle |
Angels' Roost is a small, comfortable, co-ed residence environment in which rooms have been set aside specifically to meet the living and learning needs of students in the one-year Bachelor of Journalism programme. This unique residence is comprised of single rooms and is situated in the heart of campus, literally steps away from the King's School of Journalism.
Note: Every effort will be made to place you in Angels' Roost. However, if we are unable to do so, we will attempt to assign you a single room in another residence. Should you have a preference for another residence building, please indicate below.
All efforts will be made to place returning/upper-year students in singles, in their preferred building, room, and lifestyle choice. Preference of choice will be given to second-degree students and full-time students.
The College retains the right to alter room assignments at any time prior to occupancy. Returning students must be in good academic standing and eligible to return to university.
Note: Angels' Roost is first reserved for BJ-1 Year and MJ students (subject to demand). You may apply for Angels' Roost placement, but you are not guaranteed a space in this location.
